It has recently become clear that fashion has recycled itself. 80's boyfriend jeans, pinafores and baggy striped tees are on the rise in our modern fashion world. I feel that the first blogpost on my new blog had to be dedicated to this renewed fashion as it is mainly what my style is about. I adore nothing more than browsing through the endless rails in Urban Outfitters and Topshop on the hunt for some new urban and edgy styles for my bursting wardrobe.
One of my many staple pieces this season are pinafores, specifically the simple, dark denim ones as I personally find them easier to match with other items of clothing. They add such a vintage and stylish edge to your outfit whilst still keeping on top of current fashion trends in the modern world. The pinafore I have been reaching for the most is this Topshop 'MOTO' basic pinafore in a dark blue denim, retailing for £39. I pair this with loose fitting monochrome coloured tops (black, white, grey) and also with burgundy, baggy jumpers and polo/turtle necks in rustic colours, adding an urban vibe to the look.
For this outfit, I have paired the pinafore with an Urban Outfitters burnt orange, tight-fitting turtle neck which retails for £19, a pretty good price for Urban Outfitters in my opinion. This look is very simple yet effective and I wear this on such a daily basis, whilst changing up the colour combos.
Seen as it is nearing the winter season, I felt it was necessary to wear simple, black opaque tights and my trusty low-cut, matte effect Doc Martins. My Doc Martins are my staple shoe which can be paired with almost every outfit I own. They are durable and last a long time, therefore are 100% worth the price tag of £95. I was worried about the stigma that Doc Martins aren't 'feminine' and would look 'clunky' on me, but they look great, feel amazing once worn in and shaped to my feet and most importantly, suit my style perfectly.
I hope you enjoyed my first post on my brand new blog 'fabric of the street'. I felt a completely fresh start was needed for me to get back into blogging so here I am on this new blog. Finally, I hope you have took some inspiration from this post, maybe for your own style or outfits!

Pretty impressive first post I must say :-) Really like your writing style, I've definitely noticed the fashion recycling itself trend. I do own a couple turtle necked tops and a sweater- so comfy! I have a pair of 1461 mono doc martens and I always wear them.
